How often do you get to merge two rooms to create one dream bathroom? That's exactly what we did in this complete home renovation.
Here's the Bathroom BEFORE: Purple tiles, pink walls and laminate counter top with black sink! Dated oak cabinetry and a sad looking, small corner shower. It was already a decent size, but with added square footage we had the opportunity to dream bigger!
Client wanted to have a large, jetted soaker tub, large separate shower, a double sink with makeup counter. We also suggested a fireplace, why not?
We came up with a layout that allowed us to add brilliant lighting, additional storage & display area by the tub. With the large open space, we designed a "floor carpet" with a coordinating basket weave marble tile to add some softness to the center of the room and provide grounding for the bubble chandelier that would hang above it.
We picked a neutral palette of taupe and warm grey to coordinate with the rest of the home. Touches of soft emerald in the accessories add glamour .... as does the light fixture!
The fireplace sits perfectly between the tub and shower for viewing while lingering in the soothing water sipping a glass of wine. Lots of shelves to store extra towels, candles and some boxes for the not so pretty bath essentials. We added some mercury glass vases on the top shelves to pick up on the chrome in the light fixture.
The basket weave tile on the shower floor is repeated outside the shower to create a tile "carpet" in the middle of the bathroom and create an anchor for the light fixture in the center of the room. A towel bar is a great way to dry towels when you don't want hooks.
The final touches included a bench in waterproof vinyl, small marble side table with decorative items, luxurious towels in white and grey, beautiful jars filled with necessities, cool artwork, a chrome towel rack, and always fresh flowers.
The client calls this her Sanctuary and she loves to pamper herself after a busy day.
